About Me

IMG_0090-Edit

I am a twenty-six-year-old theatremaker, writer, and artist living in Dobbs Ferry, NY.

I was born and raised in the Bronx and discovered an interest in writing when I was around ten years old, sharing short stories with teachers and peers. Throughout middle school and into high school my focus was on novel writing. During that time, chapters of my writing were published in my high school’s literary magazine, and I regularly shared my work online with a small following. Throughout elementary school and high school, I also discovered my love of fine art, experimenting with different mediums and techniques. I completed AP Art during my senior year with a seried of portraits of my family and friends.

At age 15 in 2013, I performed in my first musical at my high school and I was hooked. Seeing needs to fill in my community, the following year, I revived the drama club at my elementary school, St. Francis Xavier School in the Bronx, and started my own theatre company, The Morris Park Players. In the latter half of my high school years, I also developed an interest in poetry and had two poems published through contest submissions through Creative Communications.

In 2021, I earned a B.A. in Theatre with a minor in Early Childhood Education from Lehman College. During my freshman year of college, I also became the director of the drama program at Salesian High School in New Rochelle. At this time, theatre became truly vital in my development as a multifaceted artist; I began to serve as the set/costume designer, photographer, graphic designer, and sometimes performer aside from director of many of the shows I worked on.

In 2018, I was diagnosed with autism, which has changed my life and significantly influenced my work. Learning about neurological differences has given me insight on how to relate to others and has enriched my work as a theatrical mentor and writer. I have also found that I have inherently unique perspectives on the world, which is invaluable to my art.

Not only have I worked on over twenty productions since I began my work as a director, but I've also continued to challenge myself in different artistic mediums. I work as a freelance photographer and graphic designer. My boyfriend, Luke Iovenitti, and I have written two full-length musicals. Our first piece, Spared, was performed in Emerging Artists Theatre's Spring New Works Series in March 2018. We recently adapted our other musical, Numinous, into a film in which we served not only as writers, but as directors, performers, videographers, and editors. This project is no longer set to be distributed, as we prefer to view it as a learning experience and hope to reproduce it with higher-quality production in the future.

In late 2022, I had surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome, which improved chronic hand pain that caused me to almost entirely abandon the fine arts for over five years. After healing from my procedure, I have rediscovered my love for drawing and painting. I have worked on abstract art, window painting, and pet portraits. My favorite style currently is finger-painting, though I have been exploring many mediums in my free time. Creating pieces of art has become part of my daily life again and I am grateful to have redicovered that lifelong love.

My art is my life. Nothing makes me happier than to share it with others.
