Another new show!
My boyfriend, Luke Iovenitti, and I recently completed Numinous, our second full-length musical! Unlike Spared, which features a pop-rock score, Numinous has unique folk soundtrack.
Numinous follows six young adults - rebels in a nation at civil war - who have left their homes in a world where many now need to revert to the ways of hunters and gatherers. The characters band together to form a "tribe" - idyllic in theory - where they soon realize that the socio-economic constructs of their fallen society have not been lost. These characters find themselves as odds with the natural world, culture, and each other as it becomes clear that every circumstance is never simply black and white.
On May 18, 2019, we held a staged reading of Numinous at Lehman Stages in the Bronx, NY, where we had the chance to hear our work aloud and receive audience feedback. Our cast featured myself and Luke, as well as Madeline Bonsignore, Julia O'Sullivan, Olivier Zerouali, and Thea Tinawin. Christopher Alessandro read stage directions. We are currently in the process of recording a cast album, which should be released later this summer.
In the meantime, we have launched a website - numinousmusical.com - so check it out! You can also find us on Facebook and Instagram (@numinousmusical).
We're looking forward to what the future holds for this unique piece and we cannot wait to share it with more people!
