Aida: School Edition took place on March 1-3, 2019 at Salesian High School featuring performers of the Salesian Players ages 14-18.
This production was performed in the round with a small cast of thirteen performers who played parts as both Egyptians and Nubians in the world of this play. As the show itself begins and ends in a museum, we converted our performance space into its own museum, where the audience was able to view our props on display before the space became a stage. In preparation for this performance, our actors put a focus on using movement and voice to tell the story, as well as analyze the world of the play and delve deep into their understanding of the characters. This led to great maturation and skill development throughout the production process.
